Gr. 9 Citizenship Learning outcomes:
Learners will compare the impact of decisions from the perspectives of various groups of people.
Guiding questions: What are the intended and unintended consequences of societal decisions?
How do differing views of wants, needs, and justice impact people?
Learners will analyse how events and figures become valued within and across areas of society.
Guiding questions: How have some Canadian issues changed over time and others have not?
How do we define Canadian identity?

IPP (Individualized Program Plan) students with Individualized Program Plans will have individualized assignments posted in Google Classroom. Their outcomes, assignments and assessments could be quite different than what appears on this page.

Option A - Describe |
Select 5 of the 94 Heritage Minutes videos and give a brief summary of each. (50+ words).
A worksheet will be provided in Google Classroom to guide you through this. Some basic research might be necessary to complete your description.

Option B - Research & Write |
Select 1 of the 94 Heritage Minutes videos and then complete some research into that event or person. Write a short article (250+ words) A worksheet will be provided in Google Classroom to guide you through this.
Option C - Make a Slideshow |
Select 1 of the 94 Heritage Minutes videos and then complete some research into that event or person. Then create a slideshow on the event or person. A slideshow template will be provided in Google Classroom to guide you through this.
Option D - Make a Video |
Choose any event or person in Canadian history and create your own video. This could be similar to a Heritage Minute or a completely different style. A guide will be provided in Google Classroom to help you through this.
